Centre Directors
Richard and Judy Thompson
Richard or Mr. T as he is often referred to, came out to Zambia from the Uk in 1994 to work at Chengelo School in Mkushi. He established Ndubaluba outdoor centre, which is part of Chengelo. Over the next 25 years, Ndubaluba developed it’s Christian Adventure Learning, curriculums, courses, groups and events. The main aim was to use adventure activities in learning so young people could draw closer to God. During that time he met Judy and they married in 2011. Judy is a school teacher at Chengelo School. They have three girls, Kezia, Tamanda and Josie who all love the outdoors. In 2018, They started their dream of developing a Discipleship Training Centre. They were given some land and went for a Discipleship training school (DTS) in Malawi with the intention of partnering with Youth With A Mission. They finally opened their Discipleship Training Centre and led our first Adventure Discipleship Training School (DTS) in 2023. They named the Centre ‘Beulah’ Training Centre, after the verse in Isaiah 62 vs 4 which talks of a land renewed by God and a people restored by Him- great words for summing up a DTS! As a family they love community, adventure and stepping out for Him. Long, may it continue…..
Base Leaders
Tim and Gemma Mills
They first came to Zambia in 2001 and 2004 respectively. They both came with a desire to explore and grow our faith in God on a gap year called ‘African Quest’ (AQ) which was based in the grounds of Kaniki Bible College, Ndola. After having their lives transformed by Jesus and later meeting each other and getting married, they returned to Kaniki to lead African Quest. After a couple of years they also began overseeing an orphan program in the community and eventually founded a Christian Primary School called ‘Kapumpe’. Tim then spent 6+ years as an Associate Pastor in the UK, while Gemma looked after their 2 daughters, Abigail and Hannah, as well as teaching part-time.
Now they are back in Zambia, and having completed the Adventure Zambia DTS in 2023, they are both staffing at Beulah as Base Leaders. They love the Lord Jesus and are so thankful for the way He has led them through to this point in their lives and ministry.

She grew up in Livingstone, Zambia. She is a teacher by profession. She did a lot of social work for a couple of years. In early 2023, quit her job and decided to do an adventure DTS. She is glad to have been a student on the first YWAM Adventure discipleship training school (DTS) at Beulah where she experienced God’s power and love in amazing ways. After completing her DTS, she heard God calling her to come back to serve at Beulah. Now she gladly assists with administrative work and youth ministry.
